What is endometriosis

No one is sure why endometriosis (endo) happens. 

Likely its genetics, lifestyle,

honestly its a mystery.  

If you have been diagnosed with endo, usually (but not always) this results in painful periods.  

Endometriosis is a disease where parts of the endometrial lining migrate and move to different parts of the body, the cells look like lesions and can cause hardness in the tissue and can affect function of the affected organs and the surrounding area.

Most often this occurs in the pelvic region, but sometimes the cells have been known to travel further afield (a case of a young girl with endo on her knee comes to mind, when she had her period her knee would bleed)

Symptoms:

+painful period, and sometimes ovulation

+clotty dark blood

+can be very light or heavy

+can affect the bowels if the tissue there is affected

+headaches, 

+lower back pain

+loose bowels or constipation

Having really painful periods isn't something you simply have to put up with.

Can acupuncture help with endometriosis?
